Name & identity#
“Stockholm Hackerspace” - the name is always written in full on first reference. On subsequent references within the same piece, “the space” or “the hackerspace” (lowercase) are acceptable.
“HACKSTHLM” / “HACKSTHLM.SE” - the short form, used as a display name, username, and logotype. Always written in all-caps with no spaces. Do not write it as “Hacksthlm”, “hacksthlm”, or “HACK STHLM”.

About#
Stockholm Hackerspace is a soon-to-be member-run community space located on Sankteriksgatan, Kungsholmen. See Our Space and About for what we do, who’s building it, and how membership works.

Brand voice#
Tone: Casual, direct, pragmatic, inclusive. A bit technical - we’re hackers and practitioners - but we aim to be understood quickly by those who need to know.

- Diminishing framing: “just a hobby club”, “amateur engineers”
Referring to members#
Members go by handles (usernames), not real names. Unless someone has explicitly consented to be named in press, default to their handle - this applies to photos too, so please ask for permission before photographing our members, their projects, or the space.
When quoting founders or helpers, use their handle as the primary identifier: “erlern, co-founder of Stockholm Hackerspace, said…”

Logo usage#
- Minimum display size: 24px height
- Do not recolour, stretch, rotate, or add effects to the logo
- Do not place the logo on backgrounds that reduce legibility without checking contrast
- Do not use the logo to imply endorsement of a product or service

Typography#
Primary typeface: Noto Sans JP (Google Fonts).
- Headings: weight 700, uppercase, tight letter-spacing
- Subheadings: weight 600, uppercase
- Body: weight 400, mixed case
- Monospace used for code, addresses, and technical values
If Noto Sans JP is unavailable, use any neutral sans-serif (Inter, IBM Plex Sans, or system-ui).

What is a hacker?#
You can call yourself a hacker if you enjoy the intellectual challenge of creatively overcoming the limitations of software systems and electronic hardware - mostly digital electronics - to achieve novel and clever outcomes.
