Events & get-togethers
#

The space is made to be used. Here’s how different kinds of events work.

LAN Parties

Can I bring my rig and run a LAN party at the space?

Absolutely. The space has a dedicated gigabit switch for LAN events and plenty of desk + power. Overnight events are fine for members; let people know in advance via Discord so nobody books the same slot. We ask that you leave the space in the state you found it (or better).

Workshops

How do I run a workshop or talk at the space?

Post in #events on Discord at least a week out. Workshops that are open to non-members need a member host present. We have a projector, a whiteboard, and seating for ~20. Equipment workshops (soldering, 3D printing, etc.) are encouraged; just make sure there’s an induction-trained member supervising if machines are involved.

Raves & Parties

What’s the deal with raves / parties?

The building isn’t residential, so noise is less of an issue than you’d think, but let’s still be considerate after midnight. Bring your own PA or use the in-house system. Clean-up is non-negotiable.

Weekly Get-Togethers

When do people just hang out?

We have open nights every Tuesday and Thursday evening, no agenda, no RSVP required. Just show up, bring a project or bring nothing. The kitchen is free to use and coffee is always on. Members can host their own recurring slots too, just pin it in #calendar.

CTF Meets

Can we use the space for CTF competitions?

Yes, this is what the space was partly built for. VPN access, fast internet, multiple screens, and a group of people who know what they’re doing. Overnight CTFs are fine; coordinate in #ctf. If you’re streaming or recording, let everyone know. Dedicated CTF nights happen around major competitions; check the calendar.

Common questions
#

Do you need to be a member to book the space?
No, external companies and individuals can book the space directly. Every booking is assigned a member host who is present throughout the event, there to help out during the event.
Can we bring our own catering?
Yes. You can bring external catering or use our in-house food and drink. The kitchen is free to use. We sell premade sandwiches, wraps, snacks, coffee, tea, and soft drinks on-site.
Can we use the workshop machines?
Yes, with an inducted member present. 3D printers, soldering stations, oscilloscopes, and most electronics equipment is available. The CNC and laser cutter require a dedicated supervised session; mention this when booking and we’ll arrange it.
Is the space accessible?
Ground floor access, step-free entry. Accessible bathroom. If you have specific requirements, let us know when enquiring.
Can we film or photograph the space?
Yes, as long as members who happen to be present are not filmed or photographed without consent. We can arrange a time when the space is booked exclusively if needed.
What's the cancellation policy?
Full refund up to 7 days before. 50% refund 3–7 days before. No refund within 72 hours unless we can rebook the slot. Force majeure situations are handled case by case.
Can you co-brand or sponsor an event?
Yes, if the event is genuinely useful to our community, we’re open to co-branding and in some cases reduced hire rates in exchange for sponsorship of the space. Get in touch and we’ll talk.

We’re looking for
#

The space runs on members who step up and make things happen. Right now we’re especially looking for:

Trainers

Run a recurring class or teach a skill you know well - electronics, radio, security, welding, whatever you’ve got.

Workshop hosts

Host a one-off workshop or talk. We provide the room, projector, and seating; you bring the topic.

LAN party organizers

Get people together for a LAN night or tournament. We’ve got the switch, desks, and power for it.

If any of this sounds like you, say so on Discord or drop us an email - we’d love the help.
